An ornamental grass that flowers early in spring. Contrary to the dark colour of Sesleria heufleriana, this ornamental grass has greyish-white coloured plumes. It has blueish-green leaves. Sesleria nitida grows to roughly 80-100cm (2,5 - 3 feet) tall.

Sesleria nitida can fulfill the role of a ground cover or solitary plant equally well. It is a low-maintenance ornamental grass, that is resistant to cold, as it is fully winter-hardy. In addition, it is resistant to drought. Pruning is done in spring by removing dead leaves. Well drained soil is recommended.
