Woodwardia fimbriata is a beautiful fern native to Western North America, where it grows in moist, wooded habitats. Giant chain ferns have long leaves that can reach up tot 3 metres in length and aproximately 150 cm in height. It earned its name 'chain fern' due to the neatly arranged sori. It prefers a shady or half-shady location in moist soil.
