Fargesia robusta Wolong originates in the Wolong area in China. This non-invasive species of bamboo is well known for its size, both in leaves and stems. It can reach impressive heights of 4 to 5 metres tall and 2 metres wide. The helms can reach a diametre of 2 mc. This means Wolong is a formidable bamboo. Of all robusta species (currently around), Wolong has the largest leaves. Its leaves and stems are dark green. Its wide growth create a beautiful appearance. In addition, it is a fast growing plant and thus very well suited to hide (ugly) objects such as a fence or wall. It is evergreen and winterhardy and very suitable as a hedge or solitary plant
