The blue male Holly has attractive glossy blue-green leaves, with younger branches being purple/green of colour. In addition, this Holly will have small white flowers in late spring. Contrary to some other Ilex varieties, the Blue Prince does not grow any berries, but it can pollinate multiple female hollies.

Due to the ease of pruning and its attractive look, this Ilex is well suited for topiaries.
