Product description

The 'Brilliant blue' variety of the Lily of the Nile is a decorative purple lily that grows many beautiful trumpet-shaped flowers. The stems are flexible are will bend along with the wind, preventing them from breaking. It flowers profusely, but requires additional fertilizer, particularly during the first flowering period of the year. This lily is not only attractive to humans, birds, bees and butterflies love them as well! This plant is a great ornamental plant.

Agapanthus africanus is somewhat winter hardy and can be kept outside during winter, though protection is recommended for frosty periods of the year. Mulch around the plant help a lot, as does keeping the plant in a dry area. It can tolerate wind well, even when salty. This makes the plant perfect around coastal areas.

Unlike what it's common name suggests, this plant is not from the Nile area. In fact, the flower originates from the Cape, South Africa.
