Witte Parel (White Pearl) is a very vigorous, delicious gooseberry variety which produces juicy, translucent and fragrant berries. The colour of these berries is unattractive to birds, so they don't need protection! Harvest in July.

The size of the shrub, early spring, influences the quantity, and size of berries produced and the regularity of harvests. To keep the plant compact, you can prune the branches that have flowered. After planting and before the first frost, prune down to about 25 centimeters (9") above the ground. At the end of first year, divide the shoots. In subsequent years, you can simply prune to the desired height.
